BELGIAN SYMPOSIUM ON TRANSVERSAL RADIATION ONCOLOGY (B-STRO) 2025

CALL FOR ABSTRACTs

Aan alle junior leden van de BeSTRO en de BHPA en aan alle leden van de VVRO, Afiter en QMRT.

Op vrijdag 10 en zaterdag 11 oktober 2025, tijdens de B-STRO 2025, zullen er presentaties van de drie disciplines plaatsvinden, waarvoor een prijs zal worden uitgereikt. Voor de artsen en fysici betreft dit junior presentaties. De voorwaarden om te voldoen aan junoir fysicus is minder dan 5 jaar werkzaam zijn in de radiotherapie. De abstracts moeten een radiotherapeutisch (-oncologisch) karakter hebben en hoeven niet noodzakelijk over SBRT-behandelingen te gaan. Het moet om een originele mededeling gaan waarvan de presentator de enige auteur is. De abstracts moeten ten laatste op 15 augustus 2025 toekomen op het secretariaat van de BeSTRO te Leuven (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Er zijn 3 presentaties per discipline voorzien in het programma. Het wetenschappelijk comité van B-STRO 2025 zal een selectie maken van de abstracts indien nodig. De mededeling zal zowel inhoudelijk als vormelijk beoordeeld worden. De spreektijd is strikt beperkt tot 10 minuten (8 min. + 2 min. discussie).

Les vendredi 10 et samedi 11 octobre 2025, lors du B-STRO 2025, des présentations auront lieu pour lesquelles un prix sera décerné. Pour les médecins et les physiciens il s'agit des présentations pour les juniors. La condition pour être considéré comme physicien junior est d'avoir moins de 5 ans d'expérience professionnelle en radiothérapie. Les abstracts doivent avoir un caractère radiothérapeutique (-oncologique) et ne doit pas nécessairement concerner les traitement SBRT. Il doit s'agir d'une communication originale dont le présentateur est l'unique auteur. Les abstracts doivent parvenir au plus tard le 15 août 2025 au secrétariat du BeSTRO (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Le programme prévoit 3 présentations par discipline. Le comité scientifique du B-STRO 2025 effectuera une sélection des abstracts si nécessaire. L'abstract sera évalué tant sur le fond que sur la forme. Le temps de parole est strictement limité à 10 minutes (8 min. de présentation + 2 min. discussion).

BeSTRO junior member presentation

PhD work is not presented during the B-STRO. This is done at the Spring meeting. Presenters should be members of the society.

Guidelines for abstract preparation 

The abstracts should be presented according to the following guidelines: The abstract should not have been published as a full manuscript. It should not exceed 300 words (one page format A4, pitch 12, page margins at least 2,5 cm). It should summarize briefly the presentation including the purpose of the study, the methods used, the observed results and a conclusion. It should also include the title and the presentor’s name with his/her affiliation. RTT’s and QM’s are allowed to write the abstract in their language (dutch, french or english). Guidelines for presentation

The communication should be strictly restricted to the time allocated. A laptop and screen will be available to project a PowerPoint presentation. Presenters are requested to provide the B-STRO 2025 with their PowerPoint presentation at least 3 working days before the meeting. To avoid any compatibility problems with software, it is allowed to bring your own laptop as well. The language used during the meeting is English. RTT’s and QM’s are allowed to give their presentation in their native language, slides are to be in English.

Jury composition

The jury is composed by the members of the scientific committee of the B-STRO 2025. Each member quotes separately the abstract, the presentation and the discussion. To avoid discussion, a member of the jury should not score a junior member of his/her own staff.
